Overview:
This programme is designed to develop an understanding among students of the concepts and principles of taxation of special industry and other types of tax liability other than income tax. Students are expected to display an in-depth understanding of the operation of the country's tax system, such as the double taxation agreement, tax audit and tax investigation, and investment incentives available. Students are also expected to be able to identify, discuss and advise on the tax issues in a particular situation as well as planning opportunities to minimise potential tax liabilities by applying their taxation knowledge. As the 4th Industrial Revolution (IR 4.0) has rapidly impacted how businesses are run, the Government has also introduced some tax initiatives. These profound changes have been incorporated in this module, such as investment incentives to boost the industries to participate rigorously in the global arena.
