Overview: 

This module is designed to prepare students to handle a wide range of challenging problems presented by disaffected children. Students will have the opportunity to explore school and societal issues that affect the academic performance of children. School issues such as bullying, alienation, boredom, school refuser etc. will be explored. Societal issues will include poverty, deprivation, drug and alcohol abuse. Guidance and Counselling practitioners have a key role in ensuring that all children access and benefit from their educational experience.
