Micro-credential certification in Packaging Design BVCD1363 (BVCD)
This course introduces students to the basic principles of packaging, its processes, materials and the package personality; shapes and trademarks. This subject deals with the variety of materials and processes as they relate to the manipulation of forms and packaging. Through packaging materials, students produce a variety of packaging solutions, dealing with the shape, form and volume. Designs are skills sharpened by these experiences that will aid in the creation of packaging projects in the subsequent packaging courses. This will later be followed by the link with conceptual, idea driven design solution for specific client areas. Appropriate thinking derived from research and understanding of the project criteria allows students to produce innovative and accurate designs in terms of the client’s goals. Emphasizes on analytical of 2-dimensional graphic applications onto 3-dimensional forms.
